Regularly retreating to a peaceful and calm space grants us entry to ethereal realms brimming with wisdom, joy, and often, healing. Meditation never leaves us unaffected no matter how we choose to practice it. Enter Healing Song Meditation® – a practice embodying this notion. But first, let’s explore the concept of pausing.
The How
Meditation is available in diverse forms that you may not have thought of before. Consider knitting or reading as acts of meditation that channel your focus and promote a calming affect, much like walking in nature or observing wildlife. These activities as well as the purposeful act of meditative sitting indoors, temporarily disconnect us from the daily hustle, allowing us to tap into the abundant energy surrounding us – all with the simple goal of being in the moment. Whether divine, cosmic, or magnetic, this energy promotes inner peace and groundedness. In essence, it’s meditation.
The What
Deep breathing, akin to physical exercise, nourishes our well-being. Dedicating 10-minute intervals of deep breathing daily is a simple yet powerful practice that clears the mind and invigorates the body. This is also a form of meditation. Despite its simplicity, we often struggle to prioritize these types of routines, missing out on their profound benefits to the mind, body, and soul.
My When
Healing Song Meditation® emerged as a spontaneous singing episode during a meditation session I led as a student of a holistic healing course in Montreal. I was instantly embarrassed and unsure of what had just happened. Surprisingly and unexpectedly, attendees, including my teacher, said they experienced a healing energy from my voice. My teacher called it a healing song – and so the name stayed! A few years earlier, during a Breath Work Seminar in Kirkland Quebec, while deep in a semi conscious trance, some participants’ expressions of release came through crying and yelling – my singing voice came through reminding me of the joy it once brought me and others. Once a stage and recording performer, a period of emotional turmoil had soured my joy for singing. But through self-work including embracing a reiki practice, meditation, and a few conventional methods, I reclaimed my power, and my singing voice returned. Sensitivity, once perceived as my weakness, became my strength, and the desire to share the healing that comes from sound therapy emerged. My voice transformed from a tool for entertainment to a vessel for healing of others; an evolution I embraced when I was finally ready.

My Why
Our personal journeys – including a variety of experiences, lessons learned, battles won and lost – all shape us, revealing profound truths over time. By replacing ego-driven actions with soul-powered ones, clarity emerges. Though this evolution may span decades, it unveils some answers to life’s lingering questions. Each encounter, action, and word become a lesson propelling our souls toward growth. It is often said that we are all on a journey towards self-discovery dotted with hills and valleys that challenge us to become our best and true self. Sound therapy is one such tool that facilitates the movement forward.
The Process
In Healing Song Meditation®, whether in a group or private setting, I set intentions for our Highest Good, and assist the participants to drop into a meditative state through breathing techniques and imagery. I step into a space where imagery expands and healing sounds emerge – as if custom-made to individual needs, everyone experiences the sounds differently (see the testimonials below). While for several years (and pre-Covid), I offered sessions and circles in person, transitioning to virtual meetings in 2020 proved equally profound. During a remote healing session, participants can join from their chosen “quiet” space, ensuring an undisturbed 30 to 45 minutes of time. Learn more here.
As a Reiki Grandmaster, I infuse the session with healing energy, guiding participants through a visualized journey. Through Spirit-inspired melodies and sounds, the session unfolds, offering healing, joy, love, and courage as needed. Although most of the vocalizations appear as random ethereal melodies, as a former stage performer, my inventory of known tunes – at times react like a muscle. While in a meditative state, I may be triggered by a specific energy, say a participant has a specific longing or a sorrow, a recognizable tune may emerge that offers a much-needed healing and calming energy to that one person but equally healing to all. Live circles can last from 60 to 90 minutes including time for voluntary sharing.
For Beginners
The pace is a gentle, encouraging exploration of unfamiliar sensations essential for personal growth. To explain more simply, imagine a tap on the shoulder urging you to move forward fearlessly unsure if there is a safety net beneath you. It reminds me of the quote from Erin Hanson – “What if I fall?” Oh, but my darling, “What if you fly?”. Repeated practice fosters personal evolution and deeper self-awareness.
Advanced Practitioners
While simplistic, the unique channeled singing experience offers a healing frequency akin to sound therapy from such instruments as Tibetan or crystal bowls, drumming, tuning forks, gongs and more. If you are someone who is moved by sound frequencies, this might be for you!

We’ve all weathered life’s storms, emerging with invisible scars and burdens. Yet, when we commit to change, we embark on a journey toward liberation. Rather than racing toward an end, we must focus on the daily path, making incremental changes that ripple outward, enriching not only our lives but also those in our community.
